Hi All,
We are planning on installing EV Charging points on
our campus this summer and currently looking at options.
I was wondering if anyone else had gone through the
process and specifically addressed:
·
Manufacturer
·
Type – Level 2 v Fast (ROI)
·
Location issues
·
Payment structure – card payment, premium ticket cost
Any signposts would be great,
Enjoy the weekend.

we have 2 - level 2 stations
They are free to use. Right now there are 5 EV cars coming to campus daily but the stations are used by parents and visitors too as they need to fill up for their trip back home.
The locations were chosen by construction cost and demand. Trying to minimize distance from power source and access for construction - I think they came in at 12,000 per unit. It is crazy that we don't charge - but that would have cost way more to put in place - we need it there for visitors who would not be able to pay an annual pass.

Hi All,
We have a working group in
Waterloo Region called ChargeWR and they’ve provided some info, which may be
helpful here. At our Waterloo campus, we actually decided to go with a covered
solar power station, for 6 vehicles b/c we were able to include this in a new
build that’s happening right now (will be LEED Gold). For this one we went with
Renewz (design/build) but the attached doc shows other good ones. We haven’t
finalized payment structure so this conversation will help us as well.

Hi Philip,
We currently have a project under development to install a dual charging
station.
At this point we are looking at Sun Country Highway models (SCH100) and
we have a class D estimate for a total install cost of about $36K.
Should this move forward, we do not intend to charge a premium for their
use, at least in the initial stages. However, users will still be
expected to either be a permit holder or use a pay and display ticket.
Cheers!
Aaron
