I have a question for everyone: Who/where does your sustainability (office/department/individual) report to within your institution?
As we are developing Humber’s Sustainability 5 year Plan, we’re trying to understand how this is organized elsewhere.

At Algonquin College, sustainability is managed in Physical Resources. There is an Associate Director, Facilities Planning and Sustainability. The Sustainability Coordinator role is aligned with that position.
There is also a Sustainable Algonquin Steering Committee with representatives from all operational areas of the College.

At McMaster we are currently in transition.
Earlier this year I reported to VP Admin via the Chief Risk Office. I am moving to the academic side of the house, with my role still being pan-campus (some operations but mostly research and education)
Currently, I report to the Associate Dean (Academic) of the Faculty of Engineering. The faculty basically does the admin coordination of things like my budget submissions etc. while im in transition.
I will have a better answer in the New Year, but for now: VP Academic via the Faculty of Engineering

Hi Lindsay,
At York, it's a bit complicated. We don't have a sustainability office, but there are a number of people who work on sustainability across campus. I work out of the Office of the President and report to the Chief of Staff. The focus of my work is guided, in part, by the President's Sustainability Council, made up of students, faculty and staff. I have 2 work-study students that report to me. There are several other people who also work on sustainability as part of their jobs, mostly in our Campus Services department (Waste, Energy, Transpo, Food etc.). These people report to the Asst. VP of Campus Services.

At Mohawk, we report to the VP Corporate Services through the Chief Real Estate Planning & Economic Development Officer.
We receive our direction from our Steering Committee, which includes our VP-Academic, VP-Facilities, VP-Corporate Services, Student Union Exec Dir, Dean of Engineering Technology, Manager of Risk Management, Chief Building Officer, Chief REP&ED Officer, and individuals who deal with social sustainability issues.
